Southeast Singles (aka: Highlands Ranch Singles Group)

For Active Singles In Their 40s and 50s - Mostly From The Southeast Area of Denver

HR Singles Newsletter

Guess What?  I am Retiring From the Singles World!

It started by simply emailing my church friends about parties I heard of and then it grew to 20 pages and 1,800 people were on my email list and a website with lots of volunteer hours these past 10 years.  Amazing, what God presented to me, taking a shy girl and making her so active in the singles community.  I have been blessed with meeting a lot of wonderful people (girl friends, guy friends, and my very best friends) and I just want to thank those that put a smile on my face and brought sweet memories.  I wish all of you the very best.  It is time though to move on, I see an opportunity to spend more time with a great guy and I want to go back to my quiet world with a small social life and my closest friends.  I am sure I will find another avenue to volunteer, maybe with the elderly.  Who knows where God will lead me.  My friends and I will still be active with Up the Creek (www.upthecreek.org) so I will see you there.

Anyone wishing to take over this website please let me know by the end of January.

Date:  Thursday, January 7th Meeting Cancelled Indefinitely

Further Details:

I am happy that many more of you have indicated interest in the Crested Butte bus trip Feb. 26 -28, 2010. The trip is over half full, so I hope you will sign up soon. For more info. or to sign up, I will be at the next Up the Creek meeting this Thurs. at the Proof Nightclub. I have a new e-mail address, lkcarlile@q.com. My co-leaders are Corinna Robert at corinnamke@aol.com and Curtis Cloutier at salestrainingdvr@aol.com, 303-667-6902.

Crested Butte is one of the most enjoyable trips of the season. I think end of Feb. is an ideal time to be there, as the snow should be bountiful! There are slopes for all levels of skiing. The town is serene and beautiful. The locals are friendly, and the shops, restaurants and bars are awesome. I especially love the famous Ice Bar, which is sculpted out of ice, located mid-mountain, and has bartenders dressed in fur coats.

For those of you who do not ski or snowboard, there is a Nordic Center close by for snow shoeing and X-country skiing.

Our bus will leave Denver Fri., Feb. 26, at 2:00 p.m. and depart Crested Butte Ski Area Sun., Feb. 28, at 4:30 p.m. We will have box lunches, munchies, beer, wine and soft drinks on the bus there and back. There will also be music, movies and our usual partying. When we arrive at CB, there will be a welcome party at talk of the Town, a fun local bar, with a d.j. and award-winning pizza from the Secret Stash. Sat. night, there is an optional dinner at the historic Slogar, including a yummy multicourse chicken or steak meal.

Our hotel is the Old Town Inn, which is a half-block from the shuttle to the mountain and only a couple blocks from town. The hotel is double occupancy and includes Continental breakfast each morning and a hot tub.

The cost of the trip is $220 members/$240 nonmembers. The deposit for the trip is $110 members/$120 nonmembers. The balance is due Jan. 14. The two-day group lift tickets are $126, assuming the 20 person minimum is met. Do not miss out on this fabulous trip! Hope to see you at the UTC meeting this Thurs.
